Alexa Groff
Director
Alexa is the STEM Education Specialist at Iowa State University Extension & Outreach and Iowa 4-H. She has been involved as a student, volunteer, teacher, board member and now Director. She has been serving on the SSTFI board since 2008 and has served in the Director role since 2021.
McKenzie Gettler
Display & Safety
McKenzie is the Agriscience teacher at ADM High School. She has been involved as a student and volunteer. McKenzie is the Display and Safety chairperson. She has served on the board for 15 years.
Quinn Groff
DISPLAY & SAFETY
Quinn is a high school science teacher at Ankeny High School. He has been involved as a student and volunteer. Quinn serves in a variety of behind-the-scenes roles. He has served on the board for 2 years.

Andrew is a Senior Scientific Software Developer at Corteva Agriscience. He has been involved as a student, volunteer and serves as our Technology Assistant. Andrew has been on the board since 2009.

Andrea is an Agriculture teacher at Stanton High School. She has been involved as a student, director and teacher. She has been involved with SSTFI for 24 years.

Nadine is a retired educator. She has been involved with SSTFI for 32 years. Nadine has been with the board for 4 years.

Seminars
Dani manages the Agronomy Shared Lab in the Agronomy Department at Iowa State University. She has been involved as a student and volunteer. Dani has been with the SSTFI board since 2022.
Heather Gutknecht
Special Awards
Heather is a teacher at Grundy Central Community School District. She has been involved as a student, teacher and heads up our special awards. Heather has assumed a role on our board since 2006.
Nichole Huitt
Special Awards
Nichole is a seed specialist with Corteva Agrisciences in Johnston. She has been involved as a student and helping with key behind the scenes roles. Nichole has been on the board for 18 years.
Ethan Erickson
MS Judging
Ethan is an Automated Industrial Engineer at Baker Group. He has been a student, volunteer and is a co-chair of the Middle School Judging committee. Ethan has been on the board for 11 years.
Scott Wendt
MS Judging
Scott is a manager for the Radiation Safety Group on campus at Iowa State University. He serves as co-chair of the Middle School Judging committee. Scott has been involved with the State Science Fair for 6 years.
Carrie Galvan
SH Judging
Carrie is the Director of Client Analytics at 340Basics. She has been involved as a student, volunteer and also serves as co-chair of the Senior High Judging committee. Carrie has been serving on the board for 14 years.
Dr. Kim Murphy
SH Judging
Dr. Kimberley Murphy is a Professor of Biology & Department Chair of Biology at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. She serves as co-chair of the Senior High Judging Committee. She has been involved with SSTFI since 2009.

Agriscience Liason
Jacob is an Agriculture and Biology Teacher at North Scott Community School District. He has served in roles as a judge and teacher at SSTFI, previously he was the director of the World Food Prize. Jacob has been involved with SSTFI since 2019.

EISEF Director
Susan is the Chemical Hygiene Officer in Chemistry at Coe College. She has been a board member with EISEF since 2005. She has served as the Fair Director of EISEF and on the SSTFI board since 2009. WISEF is held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Kris

WISEF Director
Kris is a retired high school science teacher. He started WISEF after a 10-year hiatus. Kris has served as the WISEF director for 10 years and has been involved with the SSTFI for over 50 years. WISEF is held in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
